you experience in our programs will teach you that
you can accomplish anything that you set your mind
to. Improved confidence will lead to a more successful
work and family life, better interaction with friends,
and an improved self-image.
2. Learn to defend yourself and your family:
One Tree Martial Arts teaches two types of self-defense.
First, you will learn how to use your arms and legs
to generate an amazing amount of power. Learning how
to properly utilize your strength, agility, and power
is a key component of our program. Next, you will
also learn a great deal about preventative self-defense.
Through our program you will become more aware of
your surroundings and will also learn how to carry
yourself. All of this will allow you to better defend
yourself or your family if need be.
3. Improve your strength, balance, and coordination:
Much of the work done in our classes focuses on developing
core body strength through stance-work and balance
drills. You will learn to put together movements in
the most effective manner. Not the most coordinated
person? That’s okay! Most of our students are
NOT athletes and come to us with very little athletic
experience. One Tree Martial Arts specializes in working
with first-time students and has a program designed
for new students that will gradually build your balance
and coordination.
4. Reduce your level of stress:
In today’s world stress is one of the leading
causes of health problems in men. Our classes are
specifically designed to serve as a very effective
method of reducing stress. Many of our classes are
focused on utilizing your arms and legs and include
hitting heavy bags—one of the most effective
ways to rid your body and mind of stress!
5. Workout in a fun and educational environment:
Some people like working out and others don’t.
The feedback we get about our program is that it is
FUN! Because our curriculum increases in scope gradually,
you will always be challenged with new and exciting
curriculum. Many of our students have been practicing
martial arts for 4, 5, even 6 years.

WOMEN

You can burn up to 800 calories in one of our classes!
Not only will you burn calories, but you will tone
your arms, legs, abs, and back. The positive side
affect of this training results in a higher metabolism
which means your body will burn more calories naturally
24-7! Combine this training with a proper diet and

KIDS
Parents start there children in martial arts for many
reasons. Fitness, confidence, discipline, focus or
even to help with dealing with bullying at school.
Whatever the reason, martial arts training has been
proven time and time again to help children do better
in many aspects of their lives.

OTMA
offers classes for children ages 4-7 once a week.
These classes are designed to introduce children to
the martial arts and OTMA in a fast paced game and
activity format. At age 8 kids are graduated into
the regular classes. There are instances where children
show an exceptional grasp of the curriculum as well
as advanced maturity and are moved into the regular
program at age 7.

YOUNG
PEACEMAKERS
The martial arts isn't just for adults. OTMA has a
special pre-school martial arts class just for 4-6
year olds. This class focuses on your child's enery
and interest at this point in life. OTMA's Young Peacemakers
is a kid-friendly version of our white belt curriculum.
Everything is taught by fun drills and teaches your
child how to work by themselves and with others. Children
in this class will profit from learning coordination,
how to listen and follow instruction, working with
others, gaining self-confidence and socialization
skills, as well as many other benefits. Children who
have particiapated in the Young Peacemakers classes
will be well prepared to join the older children in
our regular program.

PRIVATE
INSTRUCTION
There are many reasons that students choose to train
one on one with their instructor. For some just starting
thier training, it is a way to jump start their skills
in an unintimidating atmosphere. For others the goal
may be to excell in a specific aspect of thier training,
and yet for others it may be to prepare for a promotion
test. Whatever the reason for taking private lessons,
one thing is sure, private lessons pack a lot of training
into a small chunk of your day.

TRANSFER
STUDENTS
Whether transfering from another area or just unhappy
with the teaching at another school, changing schools
can be a difficult adjustment to make. At OTMA, we
try to make the transition as smooth as possible.
Transfer
students have a choice of starting in our beginner's
class and learning our system from the ground up,
or having a private lesson and then deciding on an
appropriate place to take up our curriculum. Either
way, OTMA students and teachers alike, help transfer
students feel at home as they assimilate into our
school.

INSTRUCTORS
After obtaining black belt rank, students have the
option of joining OTMA's instructor program. This
program is designed to sharpen the martial artist's
skills as well as help perfect their ability to pass
on their knowledge to others. The program consists
of hundreds of hours of observation and team teaching
as well as other requirements such as CPR and First
Aid certifications. At the end of the Instructor Training,
students can obtain the rank of assistant instructor
and begin contributing to the school by passing on
some of their strengths to other students.
